Overview

The Da Vinci Rig has several advantages over the use of a real vehicle in a simulation environment.

All redundant parts of a normal car are omitted: e.g. wheels, airbags, crash safety etc. Instead the design includes many new features necessary for a simulator environment or large volume production:

- The modern timeless design will asure a lasting investment. (It will not age, as with a real vehicle)
- It can be disassembled to fit through a normal door.
- Steering, and pedals can be fitted for a left or right hand drive.
- all items are modular and can be removed easily (pedals, stick shift). This makes field service almost not necessary.
- The design allows production to be easy, quick and affordable.
- A special purpose computer the 'Smart Box' is used to control the gages and read the pedals instead of a PC. (reliabilty is much higher)
